  • Incident reports. The details you give about an incident: its type, date, time, location and description, and any photos or documents you attach. Reports may include information about religious belief, which we treat with particular care.
  • Contact details. Your name, email address and phone number, if you choose to provide them. You can submit a report without them.
  • Account details. If you create an account: your name, email address and a password, which is stored in a protected (hashed) form.
  • Technical information. When you submit a report, we record your IP address and browser type with it. We use this to prevent abuse of our forms and to keep the service secure.

How we use your information

  • To record, review and respond to incident reports.
  • To contact you about a report, if you have given contact details.
  • To understand patterns of incidents, using information that does not identify you.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam or misuse.

We process incident reports on the basis of the consent you give when you submit the form.

Confidentiality and sharing

Reports are confidential. We will never share your identity without your consent, except where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie, which keeps you signed in if you have an account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our report form may use a security check provided by Cloudflare to tell people apart from automated programs.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to withdraw your consent. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
